Through remote collaboration on a Planning Charrette lead by Town Planning and Urban Design Collaborative, CDS was commissioned to explore an alternate “Re-skin” elevation for a proposed Fire Station / Police Station building located on the town square in Holtville California. The town was concerned about the impact of such a building on the primary square and was not entirely happy with the currently proposed design solution. The “Re-skin” study attempts to simplify the composition and massing, improve specific proportions, and infuse authentic traditional detailing.
