Restaurant Design Review

Elevation Re-Skin

In the role of Town Architect / Director of Design, CDS was tasked with reviewing a proposed restaurant project for compliance with the Neighborhood Design Guidelines and general Traditional Architecture principles.

To illustrate issues/concerns with the initially proposed design, CDS produced an alternate elevation (re-skin), working from the same floor-plan. The “Re-skin” attempts to simplify the general massing and composition as well as giving better scale and proportion to the individual design elements. The result was a scheme that is ultimately less expensive and complex, as well as being more aesthetically pleasing.
